Introduction: Prenatal stimulation has been a focus of interest in various disciplines, because it has been observed how experiences in the womb significantly influence the subsequent development of the child, including its sensory development.
Objective: develop a proposal on prenatal stimulation and its impact on the sensory development of the infant aimed at university students.
Methods: Qualitative approach, with emergent design and grounded theory, it was located at an exploratory and descriptive level. To collect the information, three university professors who were experts in prenatal and postnatal stimulation were interviewed with the purpose of knowing their perceptions regarding prenatal stimulation and its impact on sensory development.
Results: The importance of prenatal stimulation for the adequate development of the fetus and the subsequent cognitive and sensory development of the infant was evidenced at a documentary level, and at a practical level the development of the proposal was achieved.
Conclusions: It was concluded that prenatal stimulation emerges as a significant pillar in the development of the infant, which is why the dissemination of this information is considered essential, an activity in which the academy plays an important role and proposals such as the one proposed in this study become relevant.
