Author Guidelines

Journal scope

Tesla Revista Científica (ISSN: 2796-9320) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal. Its scope is multidisciplinary, oriented to the exact and natural sciences, exact sciences, engineering, social sciences, education, law, administration, and medical sciences. Tesala aims to disseminate scientific knowledge and intellectual production generated by national and international researchers. Its target audience is researchers, scientists, undergraduate and graduate students, teachers, and professionals of the disciplines above.

All contributions must be original (unpublished) and not be submitted simultaneously to other journals or editorial bodies.

Formal aspects

• The works must be sent in Microsoft Word format, with Times New Roman font at 12 points and 1.5 line spacing.
• The title, abstract, and keywords must be in Spanish and English.
• The title should be concise, and it is recommended not to exceed 15 words.
• The abstract must contain between 150 and 250 words and must be structured (introduction, objective, methods, results, conclusions).
• Keywords should range between 3 and 6.

Type of articles:

• Editorial: Articles written by members of the editorial committee and/or guest editors. The maximum length is 800 words.
• Original research articles: They present original results from research projects. They respond to the IMRD structure (Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusions). Its length is 2,500 to 10,000 words. Up to 6 figures and 6 tables will be admitted. At least 15 APA format bibliographic references must be included.
• Review articles: They systematize and integrate the research results, published or not, on the state of the art of the topic covered. It must include at least 25 bibliographical references in APA format. It is recommended that references be current and related to the topic covered. The suggested structure for this type of article is introduction, development, practical applications or future lines of research, conclusions, acknowledgments, and references. The length should be 4000 to 10,000 words. Only up to 6 figures and 6 tables will be admitted.
• Case report (for the health sciences case): They describe and analyze the results of one or several cases and how events of interest developed. These must contain a literature review or retrospective analysis of more than three clinical cases. The suggested structure for this type of article is an introduction, case presentation, discussion, conclusions, and bibliographic references. The length should be 3,000 to 10,000 words. All articles submitted to this section must comply with the provisions of the CARE guidelines.
• Systematic reviews and/or meta-analysis: These articles include critical analysis and a synthesis of multiple publications on a given topic. Here, a systematic method is used to locate studies on the topic, objective criteria are used to select the studies included in the review, rules are used to evaluate the quality of the original studies, and a synthesis of the quantitative data is performed. In these works, an objective interpretation of the results is made, and a mathematical method may or may not be used to evaluate results. The suggested structure for this type of article is introduction, development, practical applications or future lines of research, conclusions, acknowledgments, and references. The length must be between 3000 and 10000 words. Up to 6 figures or tables are allowed. Authors must follow the recommendations proposed by PRISMA.
• Opinion articles express opinions or positions on a specific, relevant, current, and/or controversial topic. Opinion articles may be requested by the Editorial Committee or evaluated directly. The recommended length is 1000 words.
• Errata and retractions: We are responsible for retracting articles and publishing errata derived from them where applicable.

Note: To carry out controlled clinical trials, the CONSORT regulations (https://www.consortstatement.org/) must be followed, and they must be registered in a public registry of clinical trials following the rules of the main author's country of origin. We suggest the CHEERS guide for the development of economic and health evaluations.

Publication language

We publish articles in Spanish and English languages.

Preprint

International SHERPA/RoMEO policies govern our journal, allowing self-archiving of the preprint. But, if an article is published totally or partially on the web pages of an event or conference, preprint server (SciELO Preprints, PMC, Plos, MedRxiv, etc.), or academic social network (ResearchGate), this must be mentioned during the shipping process.

Authorship

Author names and institutional affiliations must be correctly submitted. The ORCID and email of each author are mandatory. Affiliations should be indicated by a superscript Arabic numeral at the end of each author's last name. In the journal template are examples of the affiliations and presentation of the ORCID code.

The contributions of each author's roles are subject to the CRediT taxonomy. The Taxonomy of CRediT roles in Spanish is a tool that distributes participation roles into 14 typologies through which an author can have recognition in the publication.

It is essential to consult this page for all ethical aspects related to authors.

Acknowledgments

This section thanks the study collaborators, including clinical trial participants, who made important contributions to the article. It should be mentioned explicitly to whom and for what type of collaboration in the research the thanks are carried out. The authors declare they have authorization to publish their names in this section.

Examples to include in the Acknowledgments are people who collaborate only by providing technical help, collaborations in writing the manuscript, or heads of departments whose participation is general.

Declaration of conflict of interest

Authors must declare any personal or commercial relationship that may imply bias and, therefore, a conflict of interest with the submitted article. Conflicts of interest may be direct or indirect, including the financial interest of the authors on the part of the company sponsoring the study, as well as jobs, scholarships, travel expenses, trips, consultancies, etc.

If the author has shares in the company or is an employee, whether full or part-time, this must be indicated in the conflict of interest statement. Failure to do so may result in sanctions.

Funding

Announcing the sources of financial support for the study does not imply a conflict of interest.

The authors must declare the data of institutions that have provided financial financing for the research and/or the preparation of the article, as well as briefly describe the role that the sponsors have played in the design of the study, the collection, the analysis, and the interpretation of the data, the article's writing, or the decision to submit the article for publication. If there was no type of participation, please indicate that as well.

Abbreviations and symbols

Use only ordinary abbreviations. Non-standard use of acronyms can be confusing for readers. Avoid abbreviations in the title of the manuscript. The detailed abbreviation followed by the abbreviation in parentheses should be used at first mention unless the abbreviation is a standard unit of measurement.

Measurement units

The units of measurement must be according to the International System of Units (SIU). If you mention other types of units, please provide their equivalent in the SIU.

References

Papers should be written according to the American Psychological Association (APA), 7ª edition.

Vancouver must be used in the field of Medical Sciences (www.nlm.nih.gov/citingmedicine or https://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html).

References should be as recent and relevant as possible and carefully written according to the format.

Bibliographic managers are recommended to manage bibliographic references, especially Zotero or EndNote.

License and copyright

Papers are published under the license terms of Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0 DEED).

The authors retain the moral and economic rights of their works. They only cede to Tesla Revista Científica the right to its first publication. Since the Journal is an open access publication, readers may reproduce all or part of its content as long as they appropriately credit the corresponding authors and the journal itself. Tesla Revista Científica undertakes not to make commercial use of the texts it receives and/or publishes.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

The APC of this journal is 225 USD, and 250 USD is for articles in the health area. The authors must only pay the publication charges once the articles have been accepted. More details about the APC can be found on this page.

Access

All articles in the journal are open-access, and no payment is required to access them.
