Prenatal controls are important in the gestation stage because they provide us with valuable information to observe, analyze and interpret possible cases of obstetric complications, putting both the mother and the newborn at risk. The main objectives of these controls are the health safety of the child as well as the mothers, through good quality care.As soon as prenatal check-ups are discussed, at least 6 check-ups should be carried out so that the treating doctor is aware of the possible complications that may occur during pregnancy, in addition; an ultrasound should be used around weeks 11 and 14 to evaluate the fetal anatomy, and in weeks 18 to 24 to analyze the correct development of the heart, extremities and the molding of cartilage in bones. However; there are many complications in the stage of pregnancy, of which the highest risk of maternal mortality is preeclampsia, continuing with chronic kidney disorders, diabetes mellitus, extremes of maternal age, complications related to the placenta and metabolic disorders such as obesity. For greater high-quality care, the "Mama Score" was established, which allows acting effectively and the different obstetric keys, since there is a probability that patients may present various types of obstetric emergencies, so it is necessary to have great knowledge of the application of these measures to generate maternal and fetal survival.
