Similarities and differences of the curriculum in Initial Education in Ecuador and Colombia

Introduction: Colombia and Ecuador have two different initial education systems; However, both seek to achieve the highest academic quality possible. These differences are mainly due to the political, social and economic approaches of each country.
Objective: Know the similarities and differences in the level of initial education in Colombia and Ecuador
Methods: This research is of a documentary type and design with an explanatory level and was developed in three phases, which were: planning, development and report preparation.
Results: It was evident that both countries have made significant progress in improving the quality of initial education in recent years, they recognize that this level plays an essential role in the development of the child, they emphasize the development of social skills, empathy, respect, responsibility and emotional regulation and have made efforts to improve educational infrastructure.
Conclusions: It was concluded that both Colombia and Ecuador have made important progress in improving the quality of initial education because they have recognized that early education is important to shape the future of the infant. However, in both regions there are differences in the resources available in schools, depending on the area of the country.
