This article is related to Information and Communication Technologies where they are currently considered a necessary resource both in education and for other educational fields. Objective: to design a methodological guide to improve the use of ICT by the teacher in the teaching and learning process of the Educational Unit "Rosa Herlinda Zambrano Ganchozo". Method: this research has a mixed approach, since methods, techniques and instruments were used for information processing from both a qualitative and quantitative perspective. The instruments applied were the interview and the survey, involving 1 director, 4 teachers and 30 upper basic students of the Educational Unit. Results: It was obtained that the teachers, despite having basic knowledge of ICT, are not sufficiently trained to give the student an innovative teaching. Conclusion: the use of technology in the teaching and learning process in teaching support is very fundamental, since it allows the knowledge imparted to students to be more productive and easier to acquire.
