Nutritional alterations in Latin America vary in each country as they depend on several factors, pathologies due to deficit have decreased, however, those due to excess have increased in the last decades, thus existing an epidemiological scenario where malnutrition and obesity coexist. The objective of this research is to establish the main nutritional alterations.Systematic review.Approximately 40% of the population is obese, dyslipidemia is frequent in patients with obesity who lead a sedentary life and consume hypercaloric food, Latin America has 6.7 million children with wasting, micronutrient deficiencies correspond to iron (43%), iodine (30%), vitamin A (29%) and zinc (17%).The main nutritional disorders due to excess in the adult population are obesity and hypertriglyceridemia, while in children due to deficit are malnutrition and micronutrient deficiencies.
