Analysis of illiteracy in the Simiatug Parish, Cantón Guaranda

Illiteracy is a social problem that does not discriminate against any cultural partner sector worldwide, UNESCO has determined that there is a considerable number of people who suffer from this social evil that limits their life chances. The conditions that allow the development of this problem of a social nature can be, the demographics where the socioeconomic level of the people, the culture and ideology of the sector are accentuated. Illiteracy that is a cognitive problem and at the same time generates difficulty in terms of knowledge of the human being, who within his faculties has to know how to read and write since it is a vital instrument for the exercise of citizenship. This research study is characterized by the collection of information; which serves to identify the level of illiteracy that exists in the Simiatug parish. Thus, it is also intended to investigate the reality of the problem to be investigated, to design strategies as an alternative solution. This research is divided into 5 stages, which will contribute to meeting the stated objectives: Documentary analysis. Survey design. Survey application. - A survey will be applied in the Simiatug parish of the Guaranda canton, in the surveys aimed at illiterate people, the authors of this work will explain why the research is carried out, as well as read the survey so that they can answer, The interviewer is in charge of filling out the survey document, always respecting the answers given by the respondent. And finally it is found that 93.43% of people did not study due to economic problems, and 88.32% did not have family support for their studies, demonstrating that there is a great relationship between family support and family income and its impact on illiteracy in the Simiatug parish.
