This study analyzed the correlation between educational and occupational components in order to establish a framework for designing a graduate tracking model in the agro-industrial sector. The analysis was based on a survey of 320 graduates and 57 employers, whose data were analyzed using chi-square tests and Cramer’s V coefficient. Similarities were identified in the competencies acquired, as well as critical gaps in the academic training process. The results revealed divergent trends in strategic competencies, such as agile decision-making, creativity, and leadership. In contrast, technical competencies show better alignment, especially in the application of technologies and knowledge. These findings highlight the need to strengthen the alignment between academic training and the demands of the agro-industrial sector, emphasizing the development of critical and creative skills without neglecting already established technical competencies.
