The financial stability of Ecuadorian companies depends on the capital structure and profitability, requiring effective debt and equity management. This research seeks to analyze the relationship between capital structure and profitability of microenterprises in the construction sector of Loja - Ecuador, using debt ratios that help to control the companies. The methodology has a quantitative approach and uses the multiple linear regression method, in which 37 construction microenterprises in the Loja canton were analyzed with information from the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance for the periods between 2020-2022. The results show that ROE performance was influenced by the Debt to Equity (DEUP) ratio, which has a significant impact on profitability. While ROA profitability did not have a significant effect due to the variables independent of the debt ratios. The findings encourage the micro-enterprise construction sector to carry out an analysis of the capital structure in order to reduce and forecast relevant models that influence decision-making, and that allow the appropriate use of the resources obtained.
