Introduction: The global spread of COVID-19 necessitated adaptive processes at various social and organizational levels, creating numerous problems within the organizational structure of universities worldwide. These included budget cuts, labor shortages, institutional closures, reduced physical spaces for classes, and difficulties in implementing online education.
Objective: To determine the organizational changes observed in Latin American universities as a consequence of COVID-19.
Results: During the pandemic, 91.7% of the surveyed population confirmed that academic staff and service personnel received training to adapt to online education. Additionally, there was a perception of flexibility in the performance monitoring of staff, with 66.7% of respondents affirming that this control was relaxed, while 25% disagreed.
Conclusion: The data reflect a significant effort by universities to adapt to the challenges presented by the pandemic, showcasing flexibility and effective communication of important decisions.
