Breast nodules are among the most frequent findings of pathology in this area. These lesions have certain characteristics that describe and categorize them, these aspects being the subject of many series of investigations, which allow us to establish whether the lesion is benign or malignant in order to properly manage it. Breast cancer often shows up on imaging studies as a nodule. In this sense, the correct detection, analysis and management of these injuries is essential. Consequently, the purpose of the present investigation is to capture generalities about the use and value of ultrasound in the diagnosis of nodular breast lesions. The methodological approach of the research is a bibliographic - documentary review, supported by various databases, to obtain relevant information based on the topic of study. Ultrasound constitutes an essential complementary element to mammography for the diagnosis of nodular breast lesions. It is especially useful in mammographically dense breasts where it especially minimizes false negative results from mammography.
