Oral integral rehabilitation in patient with maxilar atress

The growth phase is pivotal in addressing maxillary atresia, yet when this window is missed, prosthetic intervention becomes paramount. This case study presents the treatment of a 60-year-old patient at the Prosthodontics Clinic of the University of Salvador, Argentina, due to aesthetic and functional concerns. Diagnosis revealed functional parameter loss and maxillary developmental deficiency. A three-phase treatment plan was established: the first phase aimed at addressing urgent needs, the second involved surgical-implant procedures, and the third focused on prosthetic rehabilitation to restore oral function and aesthetics. Furthermore, the conclusions underscore the significance of diagnosis and treatment during the growth phase, as well as the importance of proper occlusion and oral rehabilitation in enhancing oral function and health across different age groups.
