Abstract

Introduction: The effective integration between Internal Medicine and Critical Care is crucial to optimize sepsis treatment in Intensive Care Units. This article addresses the pressing need for a collaborative approach that combines the chronic perspective of Internal Medicine with the acute focus of Critical Care. From early identification and precise risk stratification to the dynamic adaptation of therapeutic interventions, this convergence enhances patient care and reduces morbidity and mortality.

Development: This article examines the essential synergy between Internal Medicine and Critical Care in managing sepsis in Intensive Care Units. We highlight early identification and precise risk stratification, merging chronic assessment with acute response. Collaboration enhances the dynamic adaptation of therapeutic interventions, reducing morbidity and mortality.

Conclusions: The effective convergence between Internal Medicine and Critical Care enhances early identification and stratification of sepsis patients, optimizing therapeutic strategies and reducing morbidity and mortality. The need for continuous education and interdisciplinary collaboration is emphasized, opening future perspectives for practical applications and innovative research avenues.
