Introduction: A productive management model of the credit portfolio and collections department is a set of strategies, processes and procedures designed to efficiently and effectively manage the credit portfolio of a financial institution and ensure the timely recovery of debtor payments.
Objective: Develop a productive management model for the Credit Portfolio and Collection Department in the efficiency of credit portfolio management for continuous improvement at Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San José Ltda.
Methods: A quantitative approach is assumed and it is considered a descriptive type of research since it is intended to analyze criteria and perspectives of the institution's managers on the credit portfolio and thus develop the management model, the information was collected through primary sources, by means of surveys applied to the managers of Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San José Ltda.
Results: A productive management model was developed based on the shortcomings identified through the survey applied to the managers of Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San José Ltda.
Conclusions: The productive management model has allowed Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito San José to maximize the efficiency of its resources by allocating personnel, technology and time more effectively.
