Sectoral structure of the industry of the province of Loja - Ecuador

Introduction: This investigative study addresses the sectoral structure of private companies in the province of Loja, according to the CIIU, highlights the main sections that operate in the province, makes an analogy of the variables that classify industries by size and makes a comparison of the participation that these companies have in the collection of income tax; allowing interest groups to know and analyze the business structure of the province for objective management.
Objective: Define the sectors with the greatest representation in the sectoral structure of the industry in the province of Loja, and their relationship between the variables employability, income, assets and income tax caused, according to the size of the companies.
Methodology: A methodology with a quantitative approach of a descriptive type was applied, using the database of the ranking of active companies 2022, published on the official website of the Superintendence of Companies, Securities and Insurance.
Results: the companies that represent more than 50% in the province of Loja, correspond to sections H: Transportation and storage (20.56%), F: Construction (16.63%) and G: Wholesale and retail trade (14,21).
Concludes: a greater number of companies generates fewer jobs and fewer assets in the industry where they operate; whereas, fewer companies generate a greater number of sales income and a greater amount of income tax.
