Moodle in significant learning in the chair of General Surgery of the rotating internship of medicine Hospital José María Velasco Ibarra de Tena

Abstract

Introduction: Currently the virtual modality has become a dynamic strategy under the use of web platforms that constitute the teaching and learning. Objective: Evaluate the impact of the Moodle platform in the significant learning of students of the General Surgery course of the rotating internship of medicine of the José María Velasco Ibarra hospital. Materials and Methods: This study was non-experimental under the qualitative modality, being descriptive, bibliographic, correlational, and field research, therefore, for data collection surveys were used directed to students of the General Surgery course. Results: That 77% of students know and have used the Moodle platform; While 44% mentioned that they almost always use this module as part of their learning, where the main reasons for entering is the knowledge of topics and tasks and observe agendas; for their part, 64% of students claimed to receive training by teachers on the proper use of the Moodle platform, Conclusions: The students rated as excellent the platform in   Surgery course, in fact, 62% mentioned to be in full agreement on the safety in grades and efficiency of this module. For this reason, 87% stated that the use of the Moodle platform has increased their learning in Surgery course.
