Analysis of the integrated management system of medium and large companies in the agricultural sector of Cotopaxi

The province of Cotopaxi is characterized by the presence of companies engaged in agricultural activities, including dairy factories, broccoli farms, and flower plantations, among others, with the latter having the greatest participation; The objective of this research project is to analyze the impact of the Integrated Management System on the profitability of medium and large companies in the agricultural sector of Cotopaxi, which are a fundamental part of the economy of the province, The purpose of these surveys was to determine how profitable the implementation of the MIS is, given that it is supposed to reduce the possibility of errors and cost increases. In addition, in recent years, this system has become widespread in companies that have already implemented a management standard for quality, environment or occupational health and safety, all based on legislation and standards. Finally, it was found that in the sector under study, only about 5% of the companies have implemented the Integrated Management System, because in Ecuador, specifically for the floriculture companies, only standards such as Flor Ecuador, Basc or Rainforest are required for exporting, but not ISO.
