The purpose of this article refers to the innovation of SMEs and how they influence the sustainability of Ecuador, a company is considered sustainable when it is able to have a financial development and reducing its operational costs contribute to the elimination of waste and pollutants, so different quotes from authors will be presented in which describes the environmental conservation through innovation strategies that contribute to the benefit of society in the productive field of supplying a required good, due to the fact that a certain percentage of medium-sized companies develop an innovation model which allows the use of natural resources in the best possible way, in such a way that guarantees a stability in the economic growth, the care of the environment looking for the welfare of society, usually they are established with a productivity and infrastructure, which allows the increase of competitive forces. In such a way, it allows technology to facilitate the trade of the product. The SMEs represent a certain type of problem due to different factors such as, market conditions, economic and financial problems, legal setbacks, education and training of personnel, the use of technology and infrastructure, which is why only 12% of innovative SMEs have been sustainable in the market, it is important to emphasize that they have remained in various sectors such as agriculture, floriculture, hotels, tourism and also highlighting the dairy sector, providing an economic contribution in the country. On the other hand, innovation and infrastructure go hand in hand because the aforementioned enterprises have gradually demonstrated a continuous improvement in productivity and competitiveness, which is favorable, so that the research on the development of innovation of sustainable SMEs in Ecuador in recent years within the socio-economic field was analyzed, it is important to emphasize that these have provided jobs being sustainable in the long term benefiting economic profits and future generations.
