Abstract

Currently, due to the health emergency caused by Covid-19, it has been observed that within the educational field there are shortcomings in social skills, which has generated in students a low or limited level of self-esteem, insecurity when communicating, frustration, aggressiveness. , this is related to the perception that each individual has of himself, which is why it is assumed that self-concept is a psychoeducational variable, which has influence on important aspects within the educational context, highlighting its implication on school success and academic performance, since it plays a primary role in the development of personality by creating mental representations of the world around them, for which feedback is important. This research had the objective of establishing the relationship between academic self-concept and emotional control in students of Unidad Educativa 27 de Noviembre, Guayas, 2020. For which the research methodology was quantitative, non-experimental design with a descriptive and correlational scope, in a population of 40 tenth-year students, in terms of the sampling procedure, the survey was used, the respective analysis of the information was made through the SPSS system. As a main result, it was determined that there is no relationship between academic self-concept and emotional control in the population studied, observing a level of sig. Bilateral greater than (0.581). For this reason, it is concluded that the variable academic self-concept and emotional control are not related.
