Abstract

The management of emotions allows us to think that the best way to reflect on feelings, for which there is a need to implement strategies for the management of these emotions, either in the medium and long term, and that manage to transform into assertive and empathetic citizens, for development in society, knowing that in childhood it is possible to identify the characteristics of emotional intelligence with the help of experts and the application of methods which allow responding to the emotional needs of the human being from an early age, being that emotional intelligence directly incurs in interpersonal relationships, which are focused on coexistence. This project had the objective of determining the relationship between emotional intelligence and interpersonal relationships in the children of the "Siete Lagos" Educational Institution of Guayaquil, 2020. The quantitative method of the non-experimental basic type was used, in a population of 200 students of basic education, but in the face of the COVID 19 health emergency, we worked with a sample of 30 students with an average age between 10 and 11 years of age, of both sexes, in sixth grade.
